LIVE: COVID-19 + RESTAURANTS | MARTHA HOOVER

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the food industry particularly hard: 80% of employees laid off during the pandemic were restaurant workers. Women, immigrants, and people of color, who make up the majority of restaurant employees, have been disproportionately affected by restaurant closures and layoffs. On June 5, Martha Hoover of Patachou, Inc. discussed these and other impacts of the pandemic, as well as the Patachou Foundation's efforts to deliver 4000+ meals a week to IPS students affected by food insecurity.
