Introducing Sujata Barai Chugh, JD – W4CI Director of Policy & Program
We are delighted to announce that Sujata Barai Chugh will join our leadership team in a part-time capacity as our Director of Policy & Program. Women4Change Indiana (W4CI) has grown into an incredible community of over 10,000 members. We are being noticed, turned to and counted on. As we all sense, the work is really just beginning! Sujata joins us to provide critical support as we grow W4CI’s state-wide presence in a sustainable, effective and impactful way.
Sujata practiced as a lawyer in Chicago for several years. She then turned her career to public policy and non-profits. Sujata is a native Hoosier from Munster, IN, and recently moved back to her home state with her husband and children after living in Louisville, KY, for nine years. In Kentucky, she worked on health policy in Governor Steve Beshear's administration, led projects with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and consulted for non-profits. Her work over the years has always included a focus on how issues affect women at the local, state and national level.
Sujata holds a law degree from Harvard Law School; a Master’s degree in Social Policy & Planning from the London School of Economics, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar; and a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs. She is happy to be back in her home state and is excited and honored to help W4CI realize all of its incredible potential.
