We Stand with Charlottesville

Women4Change Indiana deplores and condemns the hateful acts and rhetoric of the neo-Nazi and white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend. Such bigotry should find no home in our state or our country.

Our hearts go out to the victims and families affected by the acts of violence. We note with great sadness the death of Heather Heyer - a woman who was counter-protesting for change - as well as the two Virginia police officers - H. Jay Cullen and Berke M.M. Bates - who lost their lives while fulfilling their duties.

We encourage our members to publicly denounce these acts and the domestic terrorists responsible. Our organization includes women from many faiths and racial backgrounds and we want them to know that they are fully supported by our community.

For those of you who are looking for ways to actively address hate in our community, we encourage you to attend the Inaugural Indiana Response to Hate Conference this Thursday, August 17, being put on by our partner organization, the Central Indiana Alliance Against Hate
