January 24h: Here’s what happened at the Indiana Statehouse this week
This was the third full week of the 2020 Indiana General Assembly.
Women4Change hosted the Women’s Economic Stability press conference Thursday with our Equality Pay$ coalition partners. A diverse group of state senators, representatives and community members spoke about a range of issues related to women’s economic stability, including the gender pay gap and pregnancy accommodations.
Several speakers, including Senators Ron Alting and Veneta Becker, spoke about current legislation they hope to pass. One such piece of legislation is Senate Bill 342 on pregnancy and childbirth discrimination, which dictates that employers would have to offer reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees.
