HAPPENING NOW

After years of advocacy, Indiana gained a legal definition of consent in 2022.

ABOUT SEXUAL ASSAULT & CONSENT

We support legislation that recognizes rape by impersonation and closes loopholes in the state’s sexual assault and harassment statute.

  • Currently, there is no law against rape by impersonation, where the perpetrator conceals their identity and convinces the other person that they are someone else in order to gain sexual assent. An amendment might change that.

  • State sexual harassment code governs employers with 5 to 15 employees and requires the employer to agree to a lawsuit before the victim can file. This makes these cases nearly impossible to pursue.
