Ending Rape Culture Through Education and Activism

  • Ivy Tech Community College (NMC Auditorium - 4th Floor) 50 W. Fallcreek Pkwy N. Drive Indianapolis, IN 46208 (map)

Indiana ranks SECOND in the nation for rape among high-school aged girls, and 1 in 5 women in Indiana has been a victim of rape at some point in her lifetime. Let that sink in for a second. We're talking about thousands of women in our state.

Now, more than ever, is the time to speak out and take action to combat the rampant rape culture that perpetuates these statistics. In today's climate, we must not only understand the complexities of rape culture, but also be able to intervene in problematic solutions, recognize intersecting forms of oppression, and acknowledge the power of our everyday advocacy as it serves as a very powerful tool for change. Join the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault (ICESA) for this informative and interactive session as we take on rape culture and conceptualize the ways in which we can truly end sexual violence.
