We have just been notified that while the House Elections Committee will have a hearing tomorrow at 3:30 PM, Chairman Milo Smith has decided not to hear Senate Bill 326.  

We will be showing up anyway to Room 156 A at the Indiana Statehouse to show our support for Senate Bill 326 and to urge Rep. Smith to give the bill a hearing before next week’s deadline for bills to pass out of committee. While Senate Bill 326 does not establish an independent redistricting commission, we believe it is a step in the right direction. Comprehensive redistricting reform requires addressing both HOW the maps are drawn and WHO draws the maps. This bill will address the first part of the question.
