Update: IMPD Officers Indicted for Battery

First-time reader? Read our post on the recent IMPD officer-involved sexual assault and our update to catch up. 

As of today, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced the indictment of two Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers who were involved in the June 5th sexual assault incident. 

A grand jury accused one officer of three counts of battery, official misconduct, perjury, and obstruction. The other officer-involved indicted on four counts of battery and two counts of official misconduct. 

IMPD Chief Randal Taylor stated that the officers would remain on administrative duty while the department continues an internal investigation.
